How to Rule in the Kingdom
In Genesis 1 we read that we are created with the purpose of knowing God and taking dominion on the earth. We are to extend the heavenly realm, releasing justice and partnering with Jesus to reconcile the world to HImself. But we are not to combine rulership with arrogance and pride.
Jesus was both fully God and fully man. He came to redeem us and demonstrate what the normal Christian life looks like. We love the signs and wonders, the miracles and the wisdom and authority at which he taught. The depths of his knowledge has never, nor will ever, be equaled. He had all the ingredients that would make someone both arrogant and prideful, yet he never was.
Jesus kept hammering the principle that if we are to rule well, we have to be the servant of all! The level of rulership rises with the level of authentic servanthood. Jesus went low to go high, he descended to greatness!
Kingdom living is about giving your life away. It’s about putting others first. We rule well when we serve well. We are sons who serve.
Mark 9:35 Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “If anyone wants to be first, he must be the very last, and the servant of all.”
Matt. 20:28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Rulership is about being last, it about giving your life for many. We don’t climb to the top, we kneel and wash feet. We go low.
I encourage you look for ways to serve and you will be expanding the Kingdom. Give your life away and add value to others. Rule well!
